STOW COMMUNITY CHEST

Determining the Needs

The Stow Community Chest is continuously evaluating the needs of our community to insure that the agencies we fund are meeting those needs. As with any community, our needs are changing and growing. Approximately every five years, the Chest undertakes a formal community-wide assessment of needs seeking to involve all organizations and members in its evaluation.

Needs Assessment Results:

In our last Needs Assessment, participants identified needs affecting several segments of our community. Some of the results included:

  • Bringing the services of the Boys & Girls Club into Stow.

  • Providing support to Big Brothers Big Sisters to permit expansion of services to Stow youth.

  • Creating and continuing to maintain the Stow Community Chest Guide to Human Services to help address the need for information and referral assistance. This guide is mailed to each household in Stow annually and  is included in the Stow School Directory.

  • Providing lock boxes to improve emergency services access for seniors and shut-ins.

  • Include support for middle and high school students.

  • Providing support to the Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program (DVVAP) and the Network for Women's Lives organization.

  • We also continue to support community organizations such as the Stow Food Pantry, Warm Hearts, Friends of the Stow Council on Aging, the Stow Bloodmobile, and many others.
