Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program
A unique community collaboration amoung central Middlesex police departments and non-profit agencies. Volunteers are trained to proactively advocate for victims of domestic violence and to offer immediate and follow-up crisis intervention services, including risk assessment, safety planning, and connection with supportive community resources. Last year 15 Stow residents received services from this program. Network for Women's Lives978-287-4089 Founded in 1992 by a small group of dedicated women who wanted to do something about the increasing violence against women and children of Central Middlesex communities. The Network accomplishes its mission through victim assistance, education and outreach. Last year Network for Women's Lives provided services for 250 Stow residents. Randall Library Friends AssociationThe Randall Library provides the Stow community with literary, arts and music, research and community resources. In addition, they have an active children's program and provide the Summer Reading Program for area youth. Stow Boy Scouts978-897-6927 Founded in 1916, Troop 1 is the oldest troop in the country. Members learn through team work and build confidence through outdoor activites. Community service projects are required which benefit the Town of Stow, schools, churches, and civic organizations. During the past year, approximately 40-50 young men participated. Stow Girl Scouts978-897-6927 Girls learn by earning badges and participating in individual and troop activities. SCC funds have been used to support service projects for the community, provide funds for the townwide encampment and help fund the townwide rollerskating at Roller Kindgom. Approximately 150 girls from Stow participate. |
