Big Brothers Big Sisters

Big Brothers and Big Sisters provides special friendships to boys and girls, primarily from single family homes. They serve children in 16 communities, including Stow, between the ages of 6 and 13 years of age. Boys and Girls Club
of Assabet Valley

Provides safe adult supervised programs for kids from 7-17 years of age. These programs are offered afterschool, during school vacations and in the summer. They include a wide range of activities of interest, enjoyment, and education to the boys and girls they serve such as recreational, sports, homework assistance, alcohol and drug prevention, and many others. Last year 125 youth from Stow participated in programs at the Boys and Girls Club of Assabet Valley.

Cub Scout Pack #39
of Stow

Cub Scouts is a phase of the Boy Scouts of America program where young boys learn new skills, meet new friends, go on new adventures, but most of all have fun with the help of their leaders and parents. Cub Scouting is available to boys who are in first through fifth grade (or 7,8,9 and 10 year old boys). Last year there were 85 Cub Scouts in Stow.

Friends of the Council on Aging

The Friends of the Council on Aging is a volunteer group that raises money to supplement the Council on Aging's special programs for Stow seniors. Last year the Council on Aging provided services for approximately 700 Stow residents.Recent article on Friends of the Council on Agingnews!

Domestic Violence Victim Assistance Program

A unique community collaboration amoung central Middlesex police departments and non-profit agencies. Volunteers are trained to proactively advocate for victims of domestic violence and to offer immediate and follow-up crisis intervention services, including risk assessment, safety planning, and connection with supportive community resources. Last year 15 Stow residents received services from this program.

Network for Women's Lives

Founded in 1992 by a small group of dedicated women who wanted to do something about the increasing violence against women and children of Central Middlesex communities. The Network accomplishes its mission through victim assistance, education and outreach. Last year Network for Women's Lives provided services for 250 Stow residents.

Randall Library Friends Association

The Randall Library provides the Stow community with literary, arts and music, research and community resources. In addition, they have an active children's program and provide the Summer Reading Program for area youth.

Stow Boy Scouts

Founded in 1916, Troop 1 is the oldest troop in the country. Members learn through team work and build confidence through outdoor activites. Community service projects are required which benefit the Town of Stow, schools, churches, and civic organizations. During the past year, approximately 40-50 young men participated.

Stow Girl Scouts

Girls learn by earning badges and participating in individual and troop activities. SCC funds have been used to support service projects for the community, provide funds for the townwide encampment and help fund the townwide rollerskating at Roller Kindgom. Approximately 150 girls from Stow participate.
